Christianity's Role

There are good people and there are bad people and there are misinformed or ill informed or uninformed people, who are in the majority. There are people who think they know everything and there are people who know that what they know can only scratch the surface of truth.

In every religion and religious sect and in every community and every party and in every facet of life there are good and bad people. There are people who are doing the right thing and probably don't realize it or truly understand it. Likewise there are people doing the wrong thing who don't realize it or understand.

I'm a Christian, and I am against many things, but I hold judgment, because that is the Christian way. We are peaceful. It's God who will execute judgment in his omnipotent view. Otherwise, only a leader of government 'holds the sword'.

I hate to see the deadly dangerous path that is being taken in Egypt and has already been taken in other parts of the Middle East. I don't see how Muhammad can call Jesus a 'prophet' and meanwhile people believe that they have the right to behead someone who leaves the Muslim faith or stone someone who commits adultery or is a homosexual, etc. I'm not a gay activist. But I don't believe they should be put to death for what they do. Jesus taught the opposite. None of us are perfect, or can cast judgment. The government holds the sword, but I don't believe that was its intent. I believe if a government stays true to the Christian faith, only those who are a real threat to others should be put to death.

One day our eyes will be opened. I hope that many of the good Muslim people will come to realize the truth. Just like I hope that Christians hold to the truth, because we haven't always.

This looks eerily like protests that didn't end well.
